We are seeking candidates for Stop Loss Underwriter positions with our group health insurance carrier clients.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with clinical underwriting professionals to determine appropriate risk premiums, considering ongoing and known claimants.
• Display a solid grasp of the stop loss insurance market and risk mitigation techniques, while remaining up to date on evolving industry risks.
• Assess and secure profitable stop loss accounts in alignment with prescribed standards and within the scope of designated underwriting authority.
• Thoroughly record underwriting rationale and authority decisions using the carriers documentation and filing systems.
• Efficiently handle a large volume of cases during peak periods by applying excellent time management and maintaining strong personal accountability.

Qualifications

• 25 years of full-time work experience
• 10 most recent years of group health underwriting experience with an emphasis on Stop Loss
