Compensation: Base up to $240,000 + Lucrative Bonus Package

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Director of Power Delivery to lead and expand our transmission, distribution, and substation operations across the Midwestern United States. This is a strategic leadership position for an experienced executive who can build a department from the ground up combining business development, operational execution, financial management, and team leadership to create a scalable and profitable Power Delivery practice.

This role is ideal for a dynamic, entrepreneurial leader with strong technical and commercial acumen in the utility and energy infrastructure sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Department Building

  • Establish and lead a Power Delivery business unit covering Transmission, Distribution, and Substation engineering and construction services.
  • Develop and implement a strategic growth plan for expanding operations throughout the Midwest region.
  • Build a multidisciplinary team (engineering, project management, field operations, finance, and business development).
  • Define organizational structure, performance metrics, and operational processes.

Business Development & Client Relations

  • Drive business growth by developing relationships with utilities, cooperatives, EPCs, and developers.
  • Lead proposal development, contract negotiations, and strategic partnerships.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee end-to-end project execution, from feasibility and design through construction and commissioning.
  • Implement best practices in project delivery, safety, quality, and compliance.
  • Manage budgets, schedules, and performance across multiple concurrent projects.

Financial & P&L Management

  • Own departmental P&L, including forecasting, budgeting, and resource planning.
  • Ensure profitability targets are met or exceeded while maintaining client satisfaction.
  • Develop financial models and KPI dashboards to track growth and operational performance.

Team Development & Leadership

  • Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing technical and operational teams.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
  • Provide clear vision, leadership, and professional growth opportunities for staff.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 1215 years of progressive experience in Power Delivery (Transmission, Distribution, Substation).
  • Proven success in building or scaling a business unit or regional operation within the T&D industry.
  • Strong background in P&L management, business development, and operational leadership.
  • Deep understanding of utility standards, NESC, IEEE, and FERC/NERC regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead both field and office teams across multiple locations.
  • U.S. Citizenship (required).
