Position Summary

Rehabilitation Services is a multidiscipline team comprised of Cardiac Rehab (CR), Occupational Therapy (OT), Physical Therapy (PT), and Speech Therapy (ST) with collaboration and assistance from the Patient Access Department. The role of the Rehabilitation Coordinator involves working closely with the leaders of these departments to deliver top-tier community services. This position entails supervising daily clinic operations, coordinating activities among office and therapy staff, creating work schedules, and maintaining an optimal workflow.

Position Summary

Rehabilitation Services is a multidiscipline team comprised of Cardiac Rehab (CR), Occupational Therapy (OT), Physical Therapy (PT), and Speech Therapy (ST) with collaboration and assistance from the Patient Access Department. The role of the Rehabilitation Coordinator involves working closely with the leaders of these departments to deliver top-tier community services. This position entails supervising daily clinic operations, coordinating activities among office and therapy staff, creating work schedules, and maintaining an optimal workflow.

Core Functions

  • Responsible for various crucial tasks, including participating in annual reviews, assistance with hiring processes, assisting and scheduling performance improvement plans including community partnerships and maintaining positive relationships with referral sources. Makes recommendations for policies and procedures and quality initiatives for the rehab departments.
  • Inventories, orders, replenishes, and disperses supplies within the department, ensuring all areas and carts are appropriately stocked and the supplies are readily accessible to the clinical staff. Assists with transportation, delivery, and pick-up of supplies, health records, and/or equipment. Rotates and inventories stock. Maintains quality records of various department equipment, supplies, storage areas, etc.
  • Manage company-wide communications, such as memos, announcements, and invitations
  • Support the staff as needed by completing various general administrative tasks, such as creating documents, proofreading, sending communications, and filing
  • Ensure adherence to insurance company guidelines and requirements throughout the authorization process.
  • Act as liaison between clinics, insurance companies, and the central scheduling team to facilitate efficient authorization process.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENT FACTORS

DP - Typical Direct Patient Care Environment

Able to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently.

Possess physical agility and adequate reaction time to respond quickly and appropriately to unexpected patient care needs.

Needs adequate hearing and visual acuity, including adequate color vision.

Requires fine motor skills, adequate eye-hand coordination, and ability to grasp and handle objects.

Able to use proper body mechanics to assist patients in ambulating, transferring in and out of bed, chair or wheelchair.

May be required to lift up to 75 pounds.

Must use standard precautions due to threat of exposure to blood and bodily fluids.

Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone.

May require periodic use of personal computer.

Minimum Qualifications

High School/GED equivalent working knowledge.

Requires a understanding of patient financial services, financial, collecting services or insurance industry experience processes normally acquired over one or more years of work experience. In addition to a working knowledge of OSHA, HIPPA and HFAP standards and regulation.

Must possess excellent organizational skills, as well as effective human relations and communication skills. Demonstrate responsiveness, anticipate needs, taking initiative, good follow through and follow up, ability to multi-task. Must demonstrate compassion, caring, and ability to establish trust.
